Hello everyone!

Sorry (again) for being MIA, a girl's got a life, you know? :)

Happy New Year to you all! I wish you all have the best year ever in 2011! What did you ladies do?
I had a really busy one, jumping from place to place! Social butterfly, that I am! Most importantly, what did you wear?
I personally LOVE (yes, LOVEEEEEEEEE) sequins! Hahaha.. Every year, it's almost a given
that I choose to look like a disco ball! Want proof? Here's last year's and this year's dresses:

I also have been lazy, because I just got back from vacation, went to the Bahamas with my girlfriends, then at our layover in Miami, our flight back to NY was cancel. HAHA.. So we were stranded in Miami due to the overly hype mini storm NY had last Tuesday, with a whopping 5 inches... Now one must be thinking, REALLY, who gets "stranded" in Miami? Well let me tell you, we sure made the best out of our difficult circumstances... I didn't have as much of a hard time as my girlfriends did when calling out with their bosses! One replied, "Yeah sure, go get more sun..." Now would it have made things better if we were stuck in Wyoming? GOSH!

I know, most of you reading this are probably wondering, do I really give the crap about why you have been too lazy to post pics? Shoot... If I were you, I probably stopped reading a long time ago. But I felt the urge to show off my dress and the fact that I did go away while you guys were dealing with the freezing cold. Want more? I know you do.. :P Here are some of our vacation pictures, eat your hearts out!!

Now you may be wondering, really? Was that necessary? Sort of because since I started working here, all I did was shop at the store. So all the clothes I was wearing in these pics, I bought from PPF (not including the bikini, hat [got in the Bahamas] or white tank top-- of course- doh :P) The Elizabeth and James strapless peacock printed chiffon dress, the Seven blue acid washed jeans (which I cut and turned into shorts myself), Adidas hot pink/black jacket and of course, the Rebecca Minkoff studded bag!

Hello!! Sorry I've been MIA for a while, went to Arizona for my friend, Veronica's wedding and it was amazing! She was hands down one the most beautiful bride I've ever seen, no favors here because she is a good friend of mine.. I'm not bias like that :P You can judge for yourself...

But what a huge difference in the weather! It was close to 100 degrees in Phoeniz and i'm staring outside the shop now and I see signs moving, garbage flying around and scarves in people's face! What the heck?? I must say, although NYC has the most "schizophrenic" weather (NY was hailing while I was suntanning outside Veronica's backyard), I must say, there is absolutely no place like home, New York City... It's truly a remarkable city and "if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.."

New York is definitely not a city for just anyone, it's like.. Uni (sea urchin), it's an acquired taste and once you "get it" you'll just "love it".. Being in Arizona (not my first time, probably my 5th or 6th visit), I enjoyed every moment of it (always). But whenever I get home, I have this sense of relief, comfort, something that tell me, "it's alright... because you are home... home sweet home.."

You Are What You Wear?

So I came into work yesterday, dressed like how I was feeling: sick and like a bum. When you're feeling like crap, chances are you probably don't have the mental capability to figure out a hot outfit you can wear to work or put in that extra minute or hour or so to put on your face? I sure as heck didn't. I felt like crap and most likely what I wore definitely coincided with my feelings. Granted, looking like crap was not cheap: I did have on an Iro GREY sweater, Iro GREY leather jacket and of course Cititzen's GREY skinny jeans.. Oh, let me not stop there, I also had on GREY Converse and honest to God, GREY socks. HAHAHAAHAH... I did NOT realized that until I was at the shop. I had my hair tied up in the messiest bun ever and I never fixed it through out the day AND I had no makeup on but a swipe of eyeliner? At no point, of course, did I take it out on my customers, they've always been super sweet and I've been blessed.. HOWEVER, I think one look at my "GREYNESS", I did not sell one damn item yesterday!!! So is it true, that when you see a messy sales, you just don't "believe" in them? (Damn, right after I wrote that question, I think I just answered it myself...) So you BETTER believe it that today, I put on my party dress! Bring it!! Left the "grey" at home and will not ever put them together. EVER.

How To Add Some 'Color' In Your Life (or really, wardrobe)

Customers always come in and tells how much they love "this" ____________ (please insert any of the following in blank: shoes, bag, shirt, dress, etc..) but it's too 'colorful' for them to wear. Meanwhile, it can be just a solid color open toes Louboutin's. Come on girls, I know we're in New York now and black is always going to be THE color for us. But it doesn't hurt to put some colors in our wardrobe. One piece of colorful accessory can spice up ANY boring outfit! You don't have to go all our on your first try and wear some crazy kaleidascopic multi-colored, any hue in the rainbow, dress! No one is telling you to do that (for now). Start a little by little, scarf here, jade bracelet there, blue gloves later, etc.. You would eventually realize how much you can gain from just a touch of color, it can change your whole outfit once you give it a shot. Try adding little pieces when you start, then once you get the grasp of it, you can incorporate more key pieces to your outfit.

Tips on adding colors:
-Try not to worry so much on how the color works on your skin, hair or eye color. Most of us (one time or another, or probably still) has altered our natural color anyways-- dying hair, going tanning and colored contacts. So just go with your guts, the worst that can happen is you look "dead" :P, but you're wearing all black anyways, so....
- Do add colors on your best assets, to draw attention there: neck/chest area=necklace, foot=shoes (OBVIOUSLY!!), legs=skirt, arms=cuffs, shoulders= tank, etc..
-Don't stray too far from your basic colors when you first start, chances are you need some time to get used to it and you don't want to feel overwhelmed!
-If it's difficult for you to choose one particular color only, try incorporating it through a subtle floral print

Most importantly, don't be scared of colors and think of it as a way to compliment yourself with strategic ways of using it. Have some fun with it, a little can really go a long way, especially on an all black outfit :)

To Dress Or Not To Dress?

Dresses has been around for the longest time. Cavemen had one pieces to cover themselves up. It's easy, it works and it seals the deal.

Dresses works because you don't need to "think" about what to wear, an outfit is already made for you. You know it already matches and the simplicity of it along with it's versatility of bringing you into day and night with a quick change of shoes from your day flats to a sexy pair of pumps, you're good to go! It's the lazy woman's dream come true and the perfect way out of thinking of an outfit to wear.

Especially on hot and humid days, dresses are God's answers too any easy-going, classy yet sexy, ready to go women.

Why we love WHITE PUMPS?

Just got in these white Jill Stuart pumps and I was floored (I LOVE WHITE SHOES), bummed (they're not my size), ecstatic (someone will be really lucky to get these) and right away I texted my bestfriend to notify her of what just came into the shop (she is the same size as these shoes). I've been searching for the "perfect" white leather pumps for the longest time. But there was always something "wrong" with the ones I found-- either they are not white "enough" or the heels were in wood or metal. Louboutin made one, but with the red soles, I thought it looked more like a candy cane (God bless the man, I am a Louboutin's wh0re--but not that particular [and only] one). Don't think I am crazy, nor am I a nurse, but I've always loved white shoes. Since I was a little kid up until now. From my Keds, to my white McDonald's maryjanes (yes, McDonald's used to make shoes and my dad had really good taste. He also bought me my 15 pairs of Keds--love you), to my white Marc Jacobs' "mouse" flats, which I've worn to death and is still sitting in my closet while I figure out how to revive them!

Most people think "white shoes" and all these thoughts will come to their head: how hard it will be to wear? Will they look make you look like a nurse? How can they match white shoes? Do they now have to go out and buy a white bag? (woo sah) Before we all go crazy, let's relax. In reality, it's just as easy as a classic pair of black Manolo's Mary-Janes. In fact, I think they deserve to be in the same category! It's really simple and we all learned this since we were in the simple age of 6 at kindergarten, the first two colors we learned were probably black and white. Heck, what color was the chalk used on that ugly green board? White has been in our lives forever and it is not going to go anywhere. There are many rules to wearing white shoes, but most importantly, wear it with CONFIDENCE!

You do NOT have to match them! In fact if you do, it will just look like you tried too hard and we don't want that, now do we? DO however, make sure your outfit has some white in it (a pearl necklace, t-shirt, tank, scarf, ring, etc..). Personally, I'm not a huge fan of shoes matching bags.

-DON'T wear it with just RED, if you must, break it up with some black. I'm sorry, but you WILL remind people of a candy cane or the holiday's are near. July 4th anyone? Christmas? You don't want that either.

Just keep it simple. If you're wearing something with a pretty print and has some white in it, whip out the white shoes. If you feeling "blah" about your outfit, take out the white shoes. If you miss summer? BRING OUT THE WHITE SHOES. Rules are made to be broken. Yeah, some say no white after Labor Day weekend. Well I say, it looks good and I don't give! It's that simple. Fashion (and life) is so much easier, when you don't think, don't stress and just love it!

Talk about having a "bittersweet" moment! The blog is up and running. Yet, now that it's available, I don't even know how to start; as with all things in life, you get what you want and then you don't know what to do with it.. ;)

PPF was born in December of 2009 with the simple objective of having old, current, and up-and-coming designer's clothes in one place for all the fashionistas out there with a budget (or not!). We love clothes and we especially love designer stuff! PPF is my baby- we have everything pretty and absolutely "FABULOUS" in here. We take nothing less.

Being in fashion my whole life, I have been blessed with meeting many talented designers. Thus, being able to sell their clothes in my shop has been such an honor for me. Sally Wu (act1nyc.com), Shana (orlycouture.com), Catherine (LP&P) and Gemma (GemmaKahng.com): You ladies are so talented and it is such an honor to have your work in my shop. Best of luck to you all! We here at PPF would like to thank all our friends, family and customers who have continually supported us. (I know it sounds like I just received an Oscar here, but please cut me some slack, it's my first blog and I am writing from my heart). Without you guys we wouldn't have a(n) alarm/floor/paint on our wall (Phil), a website (Sheung and Kenny), a logo (Jimmy) and CLOTHES to sell (Christina, Gina, Lucy, Katy, Marie, May, Melanie, Michelle, Susan, Winnie and many, many others I don't have room to mention but are still dear to our hearts...)
